MakeIt3D performance and reliability figures are measured from production generations over the 90 days to 2026-08-06. Competitor per-model costs are derived from each vendor's published "up to N models" figures, which are best-case marketing claims we did not independently verify. MakeIt3D's Rodin 2.5 Fast/free-preview economics can support roughly 196 generation-only assets per $20 before optional image edits; free-preview quality needs fresh post-switch measurement, and image-edit attach rate can dominate cost.

Short answer

At the same $20 price point, 3D AI Studio's Studio tier advertises up to 600 assets per month. MakeIt3D's legacy Light plan gives 30 standard models, but the newer Rodin 2.5 Fast/free-preview economics can support roughly 196 generation-only assets per $20 before optional image edits. That makes the raw volume comparison conditional rather than an automatic concession: free-preview quality needs fresh post-switch measurement, and image-edit attach rate can dominate MakeIt3D's effective cost. 3D AI Studio still publishes a wider export list — GLB, OBJ, FBX, STL, USDZ, and PLY — and claims sub-60-second generation, a vendor claim we did not independently benchmark. MakeIt3D exports GLB, OBJ, STL, and 3MF, with 3MF the one format where we lead. On speed the comparison splits: our standard tier has a measured median of 19.96 seconds across 3,084 generations, competitive with their claimed sub-60s, but our premium tier has a measured median of 144.94 seconds, materially slower than that claim. We also measured a 99.57% generation success rate across 5,969 completed generations. All measured figures cover the 90 days to 2026-08-06.

Which one to pick

Both verdicts are stated plainly. We concede 3D AI Studio's wider export list and advertised high-volume tiers, while treating MakeIt3D's Rodin 2.5 Fast/free-preview volume economics as conditional rather than proven effective value.

3D AI Studio

Honest verdict: pick 3D AI Studio if you need FBX, USDZ, or PLY export, or if you want a vendor-published volume plan with Studio advertised at up to 600 assets and Pro at up to 3,500 assets. It covers more export targets than MakeIt3D.

MakeIt3D

Honest verdict: pick MakeIt3D when measured reliability, turnaround, and print-format coverage matter: a measured 99.57% generation success rate, a sub-20-second median on standard generations, STL and 3MF export, and a commercial license on paid plans. Rodin 2.5 Fast/free-preview economics can support roughly 196 generation-only assets per $20 before optional image edits, but free-preview quality needs fresh post-switch measurement and edit attach rate can dominate cost.

What this table deliberately leaves out

  • This is not a like-for-like cost benchmark. MakeIt3D's Rodin 2.5 Fast/free-preview figure is generation-only and excludes optional image edits; 3D AI Studio's per-asset cost is derived from its published "up to N assets" figures, which are best-case vendor claims we did not independently verify.
  • Do not read the roughly 196 generation-only figure as a quality claim. Free-preview quality needs fresh post-switch measurement, and image-edit attach rate can dominate total MakeIt3D cost.
  • No per-model cost is shown for the 3D AI Studio Pro tier because its price rendered as placeholder text on the vendor page and could not be read.

Generation speed and reliability

Our figures are measured from production generations over the 90 days to 2026-08-06. Theirs is a published vendor claim we did not independently benchmark. These are not like-for-like measurements and should not be read as a head-to-head benchmark.

What this table deliberately leaves out

  • Our premium tier is materially slower than 3D AI Studio's claimed sub-60-second generation — a median of 144.94 seconds is over twice their claimed ceiling. Our fast standard-tier median does not describe premium generations and must not be read as if it did.
  • Their sub-60-second figure is a marketing claim from their own site. We did not benchmark it and cannot confirm or dispute it.
  • Generation success rate is not service uptime. It measures how many started generations completed successfully; we do not publish an uptime figure. 3D AI Studio publishes no comparable figure, so this is data we measured rather than a category we have won.
  • The mesh figure is a configured ceiling, not an average. Actual per-model face counts vary with the input image.

Export formats

Both vendors publish their format lists, so this row set is comparable. 3D AI Studio supports more formats than MakeIt3D.

What this table deliberately leaves out

  • MakeIt3D does not export FBX, USDZ, or PLY. If your pipeline needs any of those, this comparison is already settled and 3D AI Studio is the tool to use.

What MakeIt3D can actually claim

These are the verifiable differentiators, either measured from production over the 90 days to 2026-08-06 or confirmed in our own configuration. 3MF is the only format row where MakeIt3D leads.

  • A measured 99.57% generation success rate — 5,969 completed against 26 failed. This is generation success, not service uptime.
  • A measured median standard-tier generation of 19.96 seconds, 90th percentile 31.81 seconds, across 3,084 generations.
  • 3MF export for 3D printing, which carries millimetre units and richer metadata than STL and is supported by modern slicers.
  • Meshes of up to 500,000 faces, and up to 300,000 for STL export.
  • A commercial license included on paid plans, stated on our pricing page.
  • Public shareable model pages, a community gallery, and multi-provider routing so output is not tied to one upstream model.

Where 3D AI Studio is the stronger option

Based on figures published by both vendors on 2026-08-06, 3D AI Studio wins several categories outright, especially export coverage. Its advertised volume remains important, but MakeIt3D's newer generation-only economics mean raw volume is no longer an unconditional concession.

  • Export coverage. FBX, USDZ, and PLY are all supported by 3D AI Studio and none are supported by MakeIt3D. For game-engine and Apple AR pipelines, that alone can be decisive.
  • Advertised volume headroom. At $20 per month, 3D AI Studio advertises up to 600 assets, and its Pro tier advertises up to 3,500 assets with no readable price on the vendor page. MakeIt3D's Rodin 2.5 Fast economics can support roughly 196 generation-only Ultrafast assets per $20 before optional image edits, but free-preview quality needs fresh post-switch measurement and edits can dominate cost.
  • A free tier exists. 3D AI Studio publishes Basic at $0 with 1,000 credits and up to 100 assets. MakeIt3D prices Ultrafast and Quick generations at 1 credit rather than offering free preview generations.
  • Premium-tier speed. Their claimed sub-60-second generation is well ahead of our measured premium median of 144.94 seconds. Our standard tier is competitive with that claim; our premium tier is not.

FAQ

Does MakeIt3D export FBX, USDZ, or PLY?

No. MakeIt3D exports GLB, OBJ, STL, and 3MF. 3D AI Studio's published list includes FBX, USDZ, and PLY in addition to GLB, OBJ, and STL. If you need any of those three, 3D AI Studio is the right tool.

Which one gives more models per month?

It depends on which MakeIt3D economics you mean. 3D AI Studio's $20 Studio tier advertises up to 600 assets per month. MakeIt3D's legacy Light plan is $20 for 30 standard models, but Rodin 2.5 Fast/free-preview economics can support roughly 196 generation-only assets per $20 before optional image edits. That is not a quality claim: free-preview quality needs fresh post-switch measurement, and image-edit attach rate can dominate total cost. 3D AI Studio's Pro tier advertises up to 3,500 assets, but its price was not readable on the vendor page.

Which tool is faster?

It depends on the tier, and the honest answer is mixed. Our standard tier has a measured median of 19.96 seconds across 3,084 generations, which is competitive with 3D AI Studio's claimed sub-60-second generation. Our premium tier has a measured median of 144.94 seconds across 1,751 generations, which is materially slower than their claim. Our numbers were measured over the 90 days to 2026-08-06; theirs is a vendor claim we did not independently benchmark.

How reliable is MakeIt3D?

Over the 90 days to 2026-08-06 we measured a 99.57% generation success rate: 5,969 generations completed against 26 that failed. That is generation success rate, not service uptime, which is a different metric we do not track. 3D AI Studio publishes no comparable figure, so treat this as data we measured rather than as a category we have won.

Why would I choose MakeIt3D over 3D AI Studio?

For 3D-print workflows, measured reliability, and conditional generation-only volume economics. MakeIt3D exports 3MF, which 3D AI Studio's published list does not include, and 3MF carries units and metadata that modern slicers use. Meshes go up to 500,000 faces, and up to 300,000 for STL export. A commercial license is included on paid plans, and we measured a 99.57% generation success rate. Rodin 2.5 Fast/free-preview economics can support roughly 196 generation-only assets per $20 before optional image edits, but free-preview quality needs fresh post-switch measurement and edits can dominate total cost.

What does 3D AI Studio's Pro plan cost?

We could not read it. The price rendered as placeholder text on the vendor's pricing page on 2026-08-06, so we leave it blank rather than estimate. The plan is listed with 18,000 credits, up to 3,500 assets, and 3 team seats. Check the vendor site for the current price.

How current are these prices?

Competitor pricing was read from the vendor's own public pricing page on 2026-08-06. Prices and plan contents change; check the vendor site before deciding.
